Taylors View:

In the beginning of third grade I moved to a new school. I quickly make friends but none of them were my best friend. Half way through the year my new best friend moved to town. Her name was Libby Modepuppe. W are still best friends and have been through just about everything together. When we were in sixth grade we wanted to start something fun. Something that would set us apart from everyone else. We decided to write a newspaper. It didn't take us long to think of a name for it. I can still remember sitting in math class talking about what to name it. I guess "The Smilin Times" was sort of a compromise of our ideas. There were two different editions of it. There was the Student Edition and the Teachers Edition...me writing the student edition and Libby, the teachers. For the next few years we kept writing the news papers for the new sixth graders. A year ago we wanted to do a school store but that didnt work out. Then we thought about doing something online...All the possibilities on the internet for a person. That's where we're at. It is an ongoing journey and it takes time and effort but its all worth it. I personally would love to thank everybody that has had any part in this. All of the students, teachers, and former TST crew members. Thank you to...Ruben Hart who was with us for the first year along with Lara Storm, and Alex Farr. Colt McDonalds who was a member of the TST crew for the second year. Each of these people has their own reason for not still being part of the crew, but while they were here they helped to make The Smilin Times more of a success each and every day.

I would also like to give a HUGE thanks to our sixth grade teacher, for being an amazing teacher, encouraging us, and really, just being our friend. You had a big part in getting us this far because if you weren't there, who knows what would have happened to the paper when we got discouraged.

Last but not least, I would like to thank Libby for being the best, best friend ever.

Who we are: The crew that took what we had a passion in doing and worked to make it something bigger.

Smiles always, Tayl♥r
